Now’s the time to Buy a new Printer

Carrot Ink was founded on the principle that your ink shouldn’t cost more than your printer. Back in 1998, I believe you could buy the lower end printers for about $150 and the ink cartridges were in the neighborhood of $50. So, depending on how many cartridges your printer used, it would be close. But saying “your ink shouldn’t cost more than your printer” was a little bit of an exaggeration.

I’ve seen several ads lately where decent printers made by the top printer manufacturers are on special in the $35 - $45 range. For a while, OEM cartridge prices were dropping and now they are on the rise to the point where you can actually find printers that cost less than the OEM cartridge.
